The most common questions we get from our clients
If you take care of it, it will take care of you. Typically the tan will last 5-7 days, up to 10 days. Proper tan prep & post care is essential to your tan life. Tan after care products available for sale.
It is best to wear dark, loose clothing and open toe shoes.
However you feel most comfortable, you can wear as little or as much as you'd like.
If you choose to wear underwear/bra, please be mindful of the lines you will have. They might conflict with dance costumes & swimsuits. Males must wear some kind of bottoms. Children are required to have an adult with them.
I suggest that you spray tan 1-2 days in advance before an event/special occasion.
The bride’s tan should be done 2 days before the wedding. I would also recommend anyone in the wedding do the same.
I highly recommend brides do a trial tan 2-3 weeks before the wedding. It’s a huge day & I want to make sure your tan will be perfect.

You will do a rinse in 1-4 hours with water only. No soap, shampoo, or lotion for the next 24 hours. You may shower normally after the first 24 hours. The first rinse will remove the cosmetic bronzer on your skin. It will look like you washed away your tan, but it will continue to develop & get darker over the next 24hrs. Please make sure to rinse off ALL of the cosmetic bronzers. Please only use your hands; no washcloths or loofahs during your first rinse.
The entire process takes about 30 minutes
from start to finish. Tan itself only takes 5 minutes.
- Rooms with a lot of light are highly recommended.
- Room with enough space to set up a tan tent.
- Access to an electrical outlet.
- Bathrooms & kitchens are usually great rooms.
- Rooms that don’t have carpets are preferred.
- Can also be done in an office, hotel, or dance studio. I recommend turning your heat up a little, as the tanning process can be chilly.
NO! Sun damage can linger underneath the skin for up to 6 weeks after a sunburn. The DHA in tanning solution can cause rapid exfoliation of skin cells, causing your skin to peel within a few hours/days of your spray tan. This can be particularly detrimental to brides or anyone attending a formal event where shoulders, backs, and decolletage are exposed. We recommend not tanning over a recent or old sunburn to avoid peeling and spotting. Sunburns can take up to 6 weeks to fully heal. Sometimes longer, depending on the severity of the burn. Trust me on this one spray tans & sunburns don’t mix well.
Immediately after your session, The cosmetic bronzer that gives you instant color can rub off on clothes & sheets. After your first rinse, the tan won’t rub off on clothes & sheets. During the 1-4 hour processing time, I recommend you wear loose dark garments. In my experience, the bronzer typically washes out fine & doesn’t stain; however, I don’t guarantee that. If it’s something you don’t want to risk getting stained, don’t wear it until after you have done your first rinse.
Tan Care
- A woman's tan might develop differently depending on hormonal changes.
While not common, hormones may cause streakiness, patchiness, uneven fade, or produce little to no color. - Antibiotics or other medications can also affect your tan.
- If you exercise and sweat heavily, your tan can fade faster, especially in body fold areas. (arm bends, armpits, knee bends, between breasts, etc.) I recommend asking for my sweat-proof solution.
- Do not use AHA & BHA Products
- Anti-aging products that “renew” or “refresh” or otherwise exfoliate the skin.
- Anti-acne products that exfoliate, or dry the skin, such as Accutane, and Salicylic acid, can affect tan fading. Skin can also peel, which can look unacceptable, especially with a tan.
- Bore-type adhesive facial strips, or “peel-off” masks, will remove your tan.
- Bug spray, perfumes, and body sprays, when sprayed directly onto the skin, can remove, fade or crack the tan. Instead, spray clothing instead of directly onto the skin.
- Facial masks and exfoliating scrubs will fade/ streak your tan. It is recommended that you do these before a spray tan.
- Band-Aids, or adhesive tape, applied to the skin will pull the “tan” off.
- Body hair bleach products will bleach the tan; non-bleach skin lighteners are fine.
- Products that contain mineral oil, Paraffins, and baby oil.
Scented Lotions and body washes will fade your tan faster.
